Hey, Bellalove72 here! Here’s the uber boring story of how TwiFicTrivia came to be….

In May of 2010 I was playing Twilight BuzzTime Trivia on Twitter to win tickets to the Eclipse premier. (I lost!)  Around the same time, missyfits was having a bad day so to cheer her up I was texting her quotes from all of her favorite fics, and she would try to guess them.  Though I totally suck monkey balls at playing Trivia, I found I enjoyed being the person to ask the questions.  I loved the Twilight Trivia and texting the fic quotes, so one night I was bored and decided to combine the two and play fic trivia on twitter. The amount of people that played along with me really surprised me and I decided it was something I wanted to do all the time! With the help of missyfits, TwiFicTrivia was born, and the very first game was played on Tuesday, June 15th 2010.

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine TwiFicTrivia growing to what it has become today.

TwiFicTrivia x Indie Fic Pimp
Every month four or five fics that have been recommended by IndieFicPimp will be featured during the Tuesday night TwiFicTrivia game. We will release the names of the IFP fics a month in advance to give you plenty of time to read them. Then in the next month, each week, one of the clues for the night will be based on one of the IFP fics. One clue from one fic each week!

About Indie Fic Pimp We recommend 5 stories a week on twitter: a writing in progress, a completed story, a brand new story, a writer-submitted story, and a one-shot. We tweet the recommendations three times a day for a week, so that the story can be seen by as many people as possible. New stories will be up every Monday and the reviews will be posted on the blog Monday-Thursday.

What’s a Bellalove72? “Bella, love” is my favorite saying from the book. I never get sick of reading it in fics either. Every time Edward calls Bella, love, I swoon! As for the 72, well, um… it’s for… uh…err…, ok, how about this… when you add 7 and 2 together you get 9 which is half of 69!

How old are you? Didn’t anyone ever tell you it’s rude to ask a h00r how old she is? I’m old enough to be called a FicH00r and that’s all I’m saying!
Likes: Pina coladas and getting caught in the rain. (damn, may have just given away my age.)

How did you find TwiFicTrivia? It found me……between playing Twilight Buzztime Trivia on Twitter and texting missyfits quotes from her favorite fics, it just came to me one day.

What eight words you’d say to Edward if you met him? I bet I can make your peen sparkle!

KMF: Mrs. Cope, Mr. Banner & Eric? Mrs. Cope, Mr. Banner and Eric: oh geez, really? Mrs. Cope????? Seriously, sarabara081 might be getting points taken away for this one! LOL ok, well I guess I’d say KILL Mrs. Cope because, yeah, old lady snatch? No fucking thank you! Fuck Mr. Banner because you know what they say about a man with a long ruler……. (Do you? Cuz I don’t and if it’s something good then yeah, I defs pick him to FUCK!) and I guess that leaves MARRY Eric which really is just all kinds of wrong but seriously, what other choice do I have? LMAO.

What’s agrutle? My name is Amanda and my middle name is Gayle Last name’s first few letters are rutle put all that together and you get AGRUTLE.. Odd I know but hubs picked it out when we first got the internet lol.

What do you do for TwiFicTrivia? I do the #FF thank you’s and I add the stories to the C2 and Favorites during the games on Tuesdays.

How do we know it’s you hosting? I am not very chatty during games.. and If I do chat I use a bunch of punctuation.. Idk any of my other tells. (or at least she’s not telling)

How did you find TwiFicTrivia? Obsmama, she started playing it first and then got me addicted.. It got to the point where one of us would cook dinner for the others family so that the men and children would eat. We were obsessed..

What eight words you’d say to Edward if you met him? Hmmm.. I love him but IDK what I would say.. Maybe this..My friend, Corie, wants you bad!!!!

Kill, Marry, or Fuck: Mike, Demetri, and Tanya? Ok so Kill Tanya cause who knows what diseases she has.  Marry Mike cause he’s not that bad of a guy, so I guess that leaves Fucking Demetri…. Maybe I didn’t think this through so well… hmmmm

What’s an jaimearkin? ohhh this seems like a complicated question… I tried to cheat and google it and they couldn’t even define it. Ok so you all know how incredibly creative I am I took my first name and smooshed my last name right on the end of it. And there you have it.

How old are you? 36… i can admit it freely.

Likes: I like my kid, my kittehs, Rob, good music, good books, good movies, being on time, tattoos, Adventure Time, snark and sarcasm, gum, Jimmy Johns #1 no tomato extra cucumbers, Coldplay and genuinely nice people who don’t have egos

Ambitions: to take over the world of course – I have no ambition, if I could I would lay in bed and read all damn day.

What do you do for TwiFicTrivia? um… LOL I plan to do stuff like host games and make graphics and fill in where ever they need me

How do we know it’s you hosting? You’ll never know – I’m like a ninja

How did you find TwiFicTrivia? I think I participated in a few games but I quickly realized that due to my super competitive nature and need to win I better get on the other end of the game… these h00rs are fast and I am not – j/s THEN I was conned into attending this meet up where all these lovely ladies were going to be simply because I knew a few and low and behold it was like the TFT reunion. I will say that it was an incredible time.

What eight words you’d say to Edward if you met him? Well… I can in fact tell you the eight words I said to him when I did meet him… “Hey Rob… how’s it going?” “Quit looking at my boobs.” (I know that’s 10 and I actually didn’t tell him to quit looking at my boobs, but I did have the puking clown shirt on and it does draw attention there.)

What’s a maxandmo? When I first got a Twitter account, I used my email username which is my first two initials and my maiden name. Needless to say, the minute I started writing Agent. 00hot and actually went on Twitter more than once a month, I changed it stat! max is my son’s name and mo is what we call my daughter.

How old are you? In my head I’m about twenty-two…when I look in the mirror I want to scream..I mean, I still look alright, but not twenty-two. I often feel like I’m babysitting my kids instead of the fact that they are mine, and I’m plenty old enough to have them. In other words, I’m in my thirties.

Likes: reading…duh! I also like any Cleveland sports teams because I love being let down and disappointed. My kids play all sorts of sports, mainly because I’m hoping they’ll be really good at something, it keeps them from fighting, and it’ll give me something to do when they’re no longer so needy.

Ambitions: hmmmm…I would like to figure out a way to get paid for reading fic.

What do you do for TwiFicTrivia? I interview the biggest FicH00r of the week and month for the blog.  I also add clues and validate ones that others have added.

How do we know it’s you hosting? Anyone within a hundred mile radius would know by simply smelling my sweat and fear of screwing it up! I like to stay undercover, but do like the word H00r.

How did you find TwiFicTrivia? Boss lady’s neighbor was my beta, and she told me to check it out. I did and realized that I clearly don’t read enough. No matter how much I flexed my ficH00r fingers, I was never going to be fast enough. I instead used it as a tool to practice my witty retorts and was once named Funniest FicH00r of the week. This honor forced me into retirement, as I knew I would never receive such top honors again.

What eight words you’d say to Edward if you met him? You need an experienced woman before screwing Bella.

KMF: Jake, Paul, Bella? Kill Paul and his bad temper, Marry Bella cuz she likes to cook and clean, then, if we’re married, I wouldn’t have to have sex with her that much, so I’d Fuck Jake cuz he’s tan and his body is sick! I’d probs spend hours licking his abs.

What’s a mommy2kh? I was in a rush when I needed a screen name for a site years ago. At the time, all I heard all day was “mommy, mommy, mommy” and my two kids’ names begin with a K and a H. So, that is how the creative “mommy2kh” was born. Since then, it kinda stuck or either I’m just too lazy to change it — it’s a toss-up.

How old are you? Old enough to know better

Likes: margaritas on a patio, a story with stomach-flipping UST, staying up late and sleeping in, mindless reality TV, laughing silly with friends

Ambitions: To win the lottery so I can spend my days on a beach, under an umbrella, with a yummy frozen drink and a good fic to read (and maybe a hot trainer or a big cover-up)

How did you find TwiFicTrivia? I decided to give it a try when some of my Twitter friends started talking about playing it. I totally suck at it though — even when I know the answer.

What do you do for TwiFicTrivia? Apparently, I can’t read a story without thinking up clues as I read! I write clues and validate clues, and pinch-hit on anything else that is needed.

How do we know it’s you hosting? It’s easy to tell it’s me – I like simple rhymes, you see! So if it sounds like Seuss, it’s a snap to deduce, who the hosting h00r could be!

What eight words you’d say to Edward if you met him? Have you seen my lost shaker of salt?

KMF: Ben, Angela, Eric? Is there a difference between Ben and Eric – LOL? I’d probably marry Ben because he seems nice and keep Eric as my fuck buddy, which means I guess I’m gonna have to kill Angela – I am marrying her man after all and I don’t want her coming after me!

What’s an obsmama? I have had this online name for about 9 years or so LOL. When I got aol (DIAL UP BABY) I needed a screen name and my son was a baby and our last name starts with O’B and the men in our family are often called Obs so I am Obs mama LOL. Not so original but what can you do. Now I get tweeted once a week asking if it’s about Obama LOL.

How old are you? 31 ! I am excited to be thirty it finally feels like I am a grown up LOL

Ambitions: Wow that is a deep question LOL. I would have to say just being a nice person it’s not always the easiest thing to be LOL.

What do you do for TwiFicTrivia? I host and add clues, and I wield the official “This is a GAME, it’s supposed to be FUN” stick and beat the other StaffH00rs when they try to get too serious or over complicate things. Especially that twilly. She’s baaad.

How do we know it’s you hosting? There will be no commas. Ever.

How did you find TwiFicTrivia? I can’t remember but I saw people on twitter talking about it and the first official game was the next night so I tried it out and SUCKED lol. I had only been reading at that point maybe six months and I knew lots of the answers but I wasn’t on twitter much so I was SO SLOW lol. Still to this day I have never won a BiGGest FicH00r of the Week title but I did win Back to Back months in August and September! I just had the best time goofing off and playing and made some great friends and found incredible fic through TFT!

What eight words you’d say to Edward if you met him? All I need is one night I will beg

What’s a twilly? A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far…oops, wrong fandom. My old online, lillyfred, was mt cat+dog’s names ; but when I registered for  Twilighted I wanted a more Twilight-y, so I smooshed twilight+lilly=twilly.  Later, I discovered this dude had pretty much registered for every known social network and email in the universe with the user name twilly, so I am also i.m.twilly, i_m_twilly and twilllly and TWILLLLLY. Now, I guess I have a thing for L’s and it’s all Tom Willy’s fault for stealing my name before I thought of it. I hope he enjoys the occasional silly, dirty and/or Rob centered, misdirected tweet.

How old are you? 22   How long have you been 22? A while…but not nearly as long as Edward has been 17!

Likes: When Edward roughly whispers “I want you” in my ear. OK, that really only happens to Bella, but I still like it. Edward. The sweet little boy hiding inside a damaged dickhead that he only lets me see. Damn it, that’s Bella again.  Actually dickheads are pretty nice too.  The *thud* pictures of HIM.

Ambitions: I’d like to teach the world the difference between ‘your’ and ‘you’re’ so we can all live in peace and harmony. <– that’s what I was supposed to say, right? But really, after, making that “likes” list, I’ve decided to re-direct my efforts into hacking the Twilight section of FFn and doing a find and replace of Bella for twilly.  Then the world will be awesome.

What do you do for TwiFicTrivia? I host, make awards and pic clues and make sure TwiFicTrivia never, ever, ever, ever does away with Rule #3.  And I’m slightly prone to hyperbole.

How do we know it’s you hosting? Ummm…usually, you can tell by the size of the train wreck!  And the misspelled words.  Rule #3 works both ways.  YES it does! I’m not listening.. . It does too…Ya-huh. I also have obvious fetish for ellipses…and…exclamation marks!

How did you find TwiFicTrivia? I was lurking on twitter, as I’m apt to do and tweet went through my TL something like, “Can you answer trivia questions about for favorite fics? Follow @TwiFicTrivia to play in 10 minutes” Since I have a pathological need to follow instructions, I did. I was probably already hooked when I got my first point and received my rob porn as a reward. By the time I won the very first BiGGest FicH00r of the week title; about three things I was absolutely positive: First, TwiFicTrivia was awesome; Second, some part of me-and I didn’t know potent that  that part would be – felt being called a h00r validated all of the time I spent reading fic. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably obsessed with TwiFicTrivia.

What eight words you’d say to Edward if you met him? Did you know that mountain lions are cougars?

  3. Respond to the clue with the answer. Make sure you mention @TwiFicTrivia
  4. The first FicH00r to @reply the correct answer gets the point for that question.
  5. Answers must be written out in full – THIS: How to Save a Life NOT THIS HtSaL
  6. BiGGest FicH00r of the Week is the FicH00r with the most points at the end of that night’s game
  7. The FicH00r with the most points at the end of the month is the BiGGest FicH00r of the Month

The fine print:

  • TwiFicTrivia is not suitable for children or teens below the age of 18 due to probable explicit adult themes and strong coarse language.
  • TwiFicTrivia will not utilize any fanfiction stories that have been previously removed from fanfiction websites or blogs. We only want to use questions from stories that are still available for FicH00rs to read. If a pulled story is used during play, it is unintentional. Please let us know and the fic will be disqualified from future questions, quotes and clue.

  • Rule #7 The answer to the FicH00r Family Feud questions are always the MOST POPULAR answer. Not necessarily what you replied on the survey.

What about fics with less than 1,000 reviews?
It’s our rule. To be featured on TwiFicTrivia, a fic must have 1,000 reviews. But we loves smaller fics too! So we partnered with Indie Fic Pimp to feature one fic with less than 1,000 reviews each week. See IFP Study Guide for upcoming fics.

Types of Clues

Tuesdays at 9PM EST TwiFicTrivia host a game of 10 questions. The FicH00r with the most points at the end of the game is crowned BiGGest FicH00r of the Week.

Surprise Random TwiFicTrivia (SRTFT) You never know when a question is going to pop up on twitter. Sometimes we’ll warn you, other times it’s a sneak attack. That’s part of the randomness

Who Wants to be a FicH00r (WWtbaFH) On occasion, we go a little crazy and will offer up a the lucky FicH00r at the top of the TwiFicTrivia Twitter timeline, a question all to themselves. They can look it up or ask their fic buddies for help. One small catch, you only get so long to answer. After time is up; we let any FicH00r around give it a shot to steal the remaining points. But there are rules which may vary, we’ll tweet them right before we open in up to everybody. (pssst…even the original FicH00r can steal back a point after her time is up)

Guess the FicH00r After a game, SRTFT or WWtbaFH we give you a chance to guess which of the StaffH00rs hosted that clue or game. Here’s the catch, ONE guess per H00r. (pssst…there may or may be some tells in our profiles. I didn’t tell you though)

Special Games A set of clues around a specific event. These are usually in addition to the Regular Tuesday night game. Each one is unique, so we’ll tell you all about the way in advance on our blog and twitter.

We call them Clues because they’re not all questions. They can be:

Questions can be about a fic, or specific event in a fic.

Quotes directly from the fic.

Pic Clue! an image or set of images that will make you think of a specific fic.

IndieFic Clues (IFP) Every month, the TFT StaffH00rs and the IndieFicPimp Staff will select 4-5 indie fics to be featured in the Tuesday TwiFicTrivia game. Since these fics have less than 1K reviews, they are not usually eligible to be a clue. This is why we give you plenty of time to read them. Now you know at least one fic that will be featured in the game each week.

FicH00r Family Feud (FFF) Every month, we survey as many FicH00rs as possible to ask them about what they’re reading or the fandom in general. When you respond to one of these clues, you should be thinking of what you think most FicH00rs said. Just like regular Family Feud, we are looking for the most popular answer.

Wordle Clue! A collage of word and or quotes that hint at the fic.

Blinkie Clue/Banner Clue! Blinkie and Banner artist RoseArcadia kindly offers her work without the fic titles or author name. You have to remember which fic it belongs too.

Wheel of Fortune This is typically a WWtbaFH clue. We’ll start by giving you the letter spaces in the name of a fic. Each round, we’ll reveal one letter. The points start high, but with each letter reveal, the point value of the question goes down.

New types of questions can pop up at anytime. We’re creative H00rs.

Tips from the fastest FicH00rs around

Don’t waste time on spelling. That’s why we have Rule #3.

Unless asked, don’t bother adding the author’s name

Enable Text Alerts for tweets from @TwiFicTrivia. Never miss another SRTFT.

  • Unless you have unlimited texting, you may not want this option. In February, we tweeted 2,440 tweets and in March, we made 2,576 tweets. Some months may be more.
  • Occasionally, the text alerts delayed because of twitter or your service provider.

Use TweetDeck We have a love/hate relationship with TweetDeck; here’s the love part.

  • TweetDeck’s streaming TL means you don’t have to constantly refresh to see the new clues during the game. With fewer refreshes, there is less chance of “exceeding your API” or landing in twitter jail.
  • Make sure “Press Enter to Send Update” is on in TD settings. This allows you to tweet just by pressing send, saving you valuable time
  • It also has different columns set so you can see your home page, @’s, DM’s and a search column if you want, all at the same time.
  • You can have @TwiFicTrivia in the text box ready to go and even if you refresh it won’t disappear.

(now for the hate part…)

  • One drawback to TweetDeck is that it uses a lot of process time and may cause your computer to slow down if you have too many other windows open.

Use the Search feature. Whether you download TweetDeck or just use twitter on the web, search TwiFicTrivia (w/o the @) you will be able to see all of our tweets as well as all the tweets we get. The only tweets you won’t see are from people who are locked that you don’t follow.

Ditch Internet Explorer and Firefox. Chrome is way faster.

Use the PowerTwitter gadget for Google Chrome.

  • Pic Clues! show up right in your feed and you don’t have to click a link at all. (The downside is the NSFW pics show up so if there are kids around make sure they can’t see the screen! It’s a little shocking sometimes to suddenly have a girl sucking on someone’s cock suddenly show up in your feed! LOL)
  • PowerTwitter also has a cool search feature that is extremely fast. Use that search instead of Twitter’s search.

How do I get my favorite fic featured on TwiFicTrivia?

We’re so glad you asked! We get them from you! Here’s a link to our Submission Form

But again, there are rules…

  • Fic must still be available to the general public in some form; FFn, Twilighted, TCW, LiveJournal or an author hosted blog. Please note, it can be very difficult to verify review counts on LJ and blogs, so please use your judgment as to whether it was/is widely read.
  • Fics must have more than 1,000 reviews
  • No spoilers. We don’t want to ruin it for any H00r who hasn’t read it yet.
  • Anyone who has read the fic should be able to answer the clue from memory.
  • Limit the clue to 140 characters. We have to be able to tweet it!

Additional guidelines when submitting specific types of clues…

Quotes directly from a fic, should be an exact quote, marked with quotation marks. Please tell us if your clue is a quote in the additional comments section of the Submission Form .

Pic Clue! Complete the Submission Form and email the images/graphics to Clues@TwiFicTrivia.com .

  • Include the title of the fic in the subject line.
  • Also include your twitter name.
  • You can send an image, set of images or an intact slide.
  • If we are building the slide, include any text that should be included in the Question/Quote/Clue or Picture section of the submission form.

Wordle Clue! You may submit a list of keywords and short quotes or a completed Wordle you created yourself at wordle.net .

  • The words/lines should you be unique enough that they as a group apply to a specific fic. (don’t forget; No spoilers!)
  • Wordles generally look best with fewer words at the larger sizes and more words at the smaller sizes. It’s OK if all the words are the same size or if there are only 2 sizes.
  • List words/lines in the additional comments section of the Submission Form.
  • For Wordles you create, please complete the submission form and email a jpeg of the Wordle to  Clues@TwiFicTrivia.com
  • If you are submitting a list of word/line, please indicate which should be small, medium, large and giant. (Again, it’ doesn’t have to be four sizes.)

How do you get points?
All you have to do is be the first FicH00r to @TwiFicTrivia with the correct answer! pssst…sometimes you only have to be one of the first three to answer. We’ll tell you as we tweet, which clues will award the first three FicH00rs a point

Why can’t we abbreviate fic titles?
Because they can be confusing and apply to multiple fics. Plus one typo changes the whole title and not even Rule #3 can save you then!

What’s SRTFT?
SRTFT – Surprise Random TwiFicTrivia. You can read more about it in the Types of Clues section above.

How do you pick the fics you use during the game?
All fics have to be over 1,000 reviews and have all chapters still posted some place. That’s it!

Can I submit a clue to be used for the game?
Of course you can! We love it when you submit clues! You can submit a clue on our Submission Form .

Can I submit a clue for my own fic?
Absolutely! As long as it’s over 1,000 reviews.

OMG, the fic I write/beta is the answer, so I totally know it! Can I get a point for it?
You can if you’re the fastest FicH00r to answer. (and you’re right!)

Can I get a point if you ask a clue I submitted?
You can now, but you still have to be the fastest FicH00r to answer! (and you’re right!)

Can I have a point just for asking?
Nope.

What if I beg and offer to bribe you, then can I have a point?
That depends, can you really get Rob to my house? If not, no.

How come KelleyRachelle wins all the time?
She’s a vampire!

Why are some clues or parts of this website misspelled?
Because they were written by twilly and she spent the 3rd grade reading Encyclopedia Brown fic instead of studying her spelling list and thought taking typing in high school was a waste of time.
